A native of East Rogers Park, in addition to traveling widely for her education, after earning her bachelor’s degree, Brophy was a full-time volunteer at Covenant House (a youth shelter) in New York City. While researching her dissertation, Brophy lived in Dublin, Ireland on a Fulbright. She loves teaching at Triton as well as engaging in academic research and writing. Brophy recently published her first book, an interdisciplinary volume she co-edited and contributed to entitled Women, Reform, and Resistance in Ireland: 1850-1950 (London: Palgrave Macmillan, 2015). She was named Triton’s Faculty of the Year in 2016.
