19th Annual President's Reception Honors Outstanding Individuals
The 19th Annual President’s Reception provided a wonderful opportunity to recognize the contributions of three outstanding individuals for their dedication and service to the community, to education and to Triton College. Geoffrey Obrzut, president/CEO of the Illinois Community College Board; Tom Olson, Triton College executive director of Marketing; and, Dr. Kathryn Robbins, superintendent of Leyden High School District 212, were all honored with the President’s Award.
Almost 300 guests dined on food prepared and served by Triton College Hospitality Industry Administration students. Area restaurants including Maria’s Mexican Restaurant, Pescatore Palace, Royal Garden Banquets/Saranecki Brothers Catering, and The Elmcrest Banquets by Biancalana also prepared and served their specialties during the evening. All of the restaurant food and staff on hand that night was donated to the Foundation.
Following the evening’s award program, guests got serious about bidding on more than 65 gift certificates, baskets, sports memorabilia, artwork and unique experiences. In the end, this year’s auction raised more than $7,000 – the most in the past 10 years. In total, the evening’s festivities raised nearly $23,000 for the students and programs of Triton College.
The date for the 2012 President’s Reception has not yet been set.
14th Annual Golf Outing a Success - Despite the Weather!
The wet weather didn't dampen anyone's spirits at the 14th Annual Triton College Foundation Golf Outing on June 22, 2011, at White Pines Golf Club in Bensenville. Nearly 200 golfers played the full 18 holes - sometimes in the sun, sometimes not! The weather aside, this year's event proved to be one of our most successful, netting more than $43,000 for the Foundation to benefit the students and programs of Triton College.
We had tremendous support from sponsors of this year's event, including long-time Triton partners UPS, AT&T Illinois, Pan American Bank, West Central Municipal Conference, and Nicor.
The 2012 event is scheduled for June 20, 2012 - White Pines Golf Club in Bensenville will again act as the host. For information, please contact the Foundation office at 708-456-0300, ext. 3758.
