The Triton College Jazz Ensemble presents an evening of swing and bop as well as Latin classics and contemporary standards. Soloists from the Triton Jazz Band as well as visiting guests from the Chicago jazz scene will be featured on this concert!

This concert will feature the winner of the first annual Triton College High School Concerto Competition as well as faculty soloists performing concertos with the Triton College Community Orchestra.

The always wildly successful Jazz Spectacular returns for the 2014-2015 concert season, featuring a brand new Chicago-based guest artist and jazz ensemble, as well as members of the Triton jazz faculty, Triton jazz students, and local high school students. A free jazz clinic, led by the guest artist, will be held at 4pm on the afternoon of the concert at the Performing Arts Center. Take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to engage with some of the best jazz musicians in our region!

Join us for this rare opportunity to hear Triton College faculty member Ingrid Israel Mikolajczyk perform Francis Poulenc’s one act opera, La Voix Humaine, based on the play of the same name by Jean Cocteau. Theater faculty member Amy Fenton will direct and stage the opera.
