Triton Softball Team to Host Breast Cancer Awareness Event April 28
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 25, 2013
The Triton College women's softball team plans to do its part in raising breast cancer awareness during its final regular season home doubleheader Sunday, April 28, at noon, against McHenry County College.
The event called "Pitch for the Cure" will honor breast cancer survivors and raise funds in the fight against breast cancer with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Throughout both games, members of the team and other volunteers will walk the crowd asking for donations. The Lady Trojans are encouraging any area breast cancer survivors to come out to the game as all survivors will be honored and receive a pink carnation.
Fans attending the games are also asked to get into the spirit by wearing pink shirts as well. The team will also sell Triton softball T-shirts with profits going towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In addition, there will be plenty of pink decorated throughout the field, including the baselines, which will be colored in pink.
For more information on being part of the festivities or to donate, contact the Triton College Softball Office at (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3289.
