Triton Drops Opener vs. Moraine
The Lady Trojans played a hard fought strong defensive game limiting the Cyclones to only five shots on goal in the first 45 minutes and were down 2-0 at the half. The score remained that way until the 85th minute when fatigue set in and the Cyclones scored three unanswered goals in the final five minutes to make the final 5-0. Triton was only able to muster three shots on goal all from freshman Thea Thommen off dead balls. Second year keeper Lauren LaPuma stopped 15 of the 20 shots fired at her.
Lady Trojans Lose Labor Day Contest with Daley
The Lady Trojans opened the scoring at the 10 minute mark with a goal by sophomore Megan Chillemi after a shot from freshman Gabriel Cossyleon off a throw in from Thea Thommen. Unfortunately that was the end of the scoring for Triton as the Bulldogs scored six unanswered goals. After the early strike, the Lady Trojans managed two shots on goal each from Cladia Carranza, Cossyleon and Thommen. Maria Dominguez also had a shot on goal.
Triton Falls in N4C Opener
The Lady Trojans opened North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play when they welcomed the Wolves from Joliet to River Grove. Triton was unable to contain the Wolves and fell 6-1. The Lady Trojans goal was scored by Claudia Carranza with an assist from Maria Dominguez. Triton had several other scoring chances as Carranza added four other shots on goal while Dominquez, Meagan Chillemi Gabriel Cossyleon and Thea Thommen each had two and Anna Walton one. Briana Pusavic recorded 17 saves.
Lady Trojans Get Shutout By Harper
Triton continued N4C play when the Hawks from Harper came to River Grove. The Lady Trojans were limited to five shots on goal in Harper's 6-0 win. Gabriel Cossyleon registered three shots, while Mayra Ruiz and Thea Thommen accounted for the other two. Keeper Briana Pusavc was under pressure the entire match wile making several outstanding saves as she stopped 23 Hawk shots.
Triton Runs Past Milwaukee for First Win
Congratulations go out to the Lady Trojans who recorded the schools first ever home conference win when they bested the Stormers from MATC-Milwaukee in River Grove 7-1. Triton was led by freshman Thea Thommen's three goals and an assist. While Claudia Carranza, Megan Chillemi, Marcia Cuenca and Rosa Sepulveda each scored. Mirna Bolos added two assists. Lauren Lapuma was back in goal and stopped six Milwaukee shot attempts.
