SWE and Triton College give girls the tools to succeed
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NOV. 1, 2013
The Society of Women Engineers – Chicago Regional Section (SWE-CRS) Outreach Committee will host an engineering workshop for girls in grades 4 through 8 on Nov. 9 on Triton College’s campus in River Grove.
From noon to 4 p.m., the girls will have the opportunity to create two hands-on engineering activities, robotics and other activities to hopefully encourage them to learn about the field of engineering. Plus, female engineers currently working and/or studying in the field will be on hand to share their experiences and help the girls with their projects.
The workshop will be held in the Industrial Careers Building (T-Building), on Triton’s campus, located at 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove, Ill.
The cost is $5 per participant and free for accompanying adults. To participate, register at www.swe.org/chicago
To volunteer, share your experience as a female engineer or for more information, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
