Triton College’s LPN program named the fourth best program in Illinois
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JULY 28, 2014
Triton College is proud to announce that its LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) program was ranked the fourth best LPN program in the state by PracticalNursing.org!
PracticalNursing.org recently released its Illinois list of the top 20 LPN programs, naming Triton’s well-regarded program among the list. The online resource used the pass rate results from the 2008-2012 NCLEX-PNs, an examination used for the licensing of nurses, to analyze 44 community colleges, technical schools and private nursing schools in Illinois that offer the state-approved curriculum for licensure, narrowing it down to the top 20 schools. Other factors taken into consideration included the number of students taking the exam and the number of years of test data available.
“Through our mission statement, we believe providing students with better transparency in regards to practical and vocational nursing programs throughout their state allow them to better match the right school accessible to them. This is the reason we have developed our LPN and LVN Programs Ranking based on NCLEX-PN,” stated on the website of PracticalNursing.org.
Triton College’s LPN program serves as a complementary component of the college’s ADN (associate’s degree in Nursing) program that is a mainstay at the institution. Taught by experienced faculty who’ve worked in the field, Triton’s program provides students with a quality education, teaching them the basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice, humanities, and social and biological sciences; as well as exposes them to clinical experiences taught in a variety of settings.
With Triton’s LPN Exit Option, students studying in Triton’s ADN program have the option of temporarily exiting the associate’s degree program to study and take the LPN licensure test. Students who pass the test can practice as an LPN, while finishing their studies toward an ADN – efficiently helping students reach their career goals.
