The Department of Labor projects there are currently 558,000 people working in financial services positions. The agency projects that in less than 10 years, an additional 313,000 jobs will be added. The Triton College Financial Services Specialist Certificate Program has been developed to help meet the demand for trained entry-level staff.
This program will prepare students to conduct routine bank transactions such as cashing checks, accepting deposits and loan payments, and processing withdrawals. The program will also prepare students to work in an administrative capacity and assist in general office duties.
BSN E21 Financial Services Specialist Training (1.5 AEC)
This program is designed to give students a basic understanding of the banking industry. No prerequisites are needed for this course. Students will be taught the basic concepts of banking, as well as the products involved in this growing industry. In addition, the course will focus on federal and state regulations and a strong emphasis on customer service. Upon completion of this program, students will have had hands-on experience in cash handling, check cashing, debits and credits, as well as the use of bank verification tools and security procedures.
This course will also focus on increasing sales through adaptability. It will help students gain the competitive advantage of style, adaptability and improve the effectiveness of every member of the sales team. This program deals with:
