College Transitions Options for Adult Education Students

 

Scholarships:

  Transitions Scholarships

The following scholarships are available for Triton College adult basic education students, who have graduated from their respective programs. Contact us for qualification information, application process and deadline.

  • Board of Trustees Scholarship - available for students who have successfully completed Level 5 of the English Language Acquisition program or successfully passed the high school equivalency test and received their completion certificate.
  • Westlake Scholarship - private scholarship available for students who have completed Level 5 of the English Language Acquisition program or successfully passed the high school equivalency test and are interested in pursuing a career in allied health.

 

Bridge Programs:

The goal of the bridge program is to gradually prepare students to succeed in postsecondary education and career-path employment.
These programs include three core elements:

  1. Contextualized instruction
  2. Career development
  3. Transition services

General Requirements

  • Attend an information session
  • Take the appropriate pre and post tests
  • Fill out Bridge Application
  • Meet with a Student Success Strategist
  • Complete the registration process
  • Pay course costs and/or fees

Counseling
Triton's counselors can help you with:

  • Planning your academic and career goals
  • Assist you in planning your course work so that you can achieve those goals
  • Solving personal problems

Job Placement/Career Services
Our job placement specialist can assist you with:

  • Creating a resume
  • Finding your special job
  • Providing career guidance and making appropriate referrals
  • Developing professional interviewing skills
