Model United Nations

The Model United Nations program brings together students from around the world in order to compete in a simulation of the United Nations. Each year a delegation of students is selected to represent Triton College in the program. Triton College pays the transportation, hotel, and registration costs. Students are expected to pay their own food costs.

To qualify, students must fill out an application and write a short essay on a preselected topic. Applications are available in the social science department office, S-116. Students will also be interviewed and approximately 8 students will be chosen for the program. Applications are generally due in late September, and student interviews are scheduled in early October. Upon request, academic credit through independent study is available for students participating in the event.

The highlight of the event occurs in the spring when the delegation travels to New York City to participate in the National Model United Nations Conference.
