Nuevos Horizontes
Citizenship

Are you thinking to become a citizen of the United States?

The first step is to be prepared for the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) test, which consists of an oral interview and a written test on U.S. history, and federal and state government functions.

If you speak, read and write English fluently, you are ready to fill out your citizenship application right away. If you do not, Triton's Adult Basic Education (ABE) Department offers English as a Second Language classes throughout the year. Nuevos Horizontes/Triton College Community Center can assist you.

In conjunction with other organizations, Nuevos Horizontes offers citizenship workshops. Nuevos Horizontes, in collaboration with Triton’s ABE Department, will prepare you to take the citizenship examination and the interview. We offer two levels of citizenship classes, three times a year. Classes meet eight consecutive Saturday mornings. We also have a computerized independent study program which can help you prepare for the test.

These classes are completely free.
