RSVP - How we are connected

History
RSVP became a national program in 1969 following an amendment to the Older Americans Act. In 1973, it became part of the Domestive Volunteer Service Act and when former President Clinton formed the Corporation for National and Community Service in 1993, RSVP joined two other organization, Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions, to form Senior Corps. All three organizations were formed on the same belief that older adults are valuable resources to their communities. In 1983, RSVP of West Suburban Cook and Southern DuPage Counties was established with the support and sponsorship of Triton College.
