CIS E97 Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office is a set of powerful tools used today in both business and personal lives. Students will learn to use the basic features of Office using an easy-to-follow, step-by-step approach covering Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, and Outlook. This course will cover how to create and edit documents using Word, create and format worksheets in Excel, create an effective presentation in PowerPoint, work with databases in Access, design a brochure using Publisher, and work with the basic features of Microsoft Outlook. This course will require a commitment of time from the student over a 15-week semester. The materials will cover approximately 32 hours to complete or about two hours per week in the Instructional Computer Center. Although it is not a requirement to complete every topic covered, students may concentrate on areas they feel they can benefit most by working with their Independent Study coordinator/instructor.
