NRS E19 CNA Instructor Course for Registered Nurses

 This course is designed for the RN who is interested in becoming an instructor for a basic nurse aide training program. The course meets the requirements outlined in the Illinois Department of Public Health’s Long Term Care Assistants and Aides Training Program Code. This course has been approved for 37.5 contact hours by INA. This activity has been submitted to Illinois Nurses Association Approver Unit for approval to award contact hours. Illinois Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.    

Credit Hours: 2.5 AEC
The student needs to be an RN with an active Illinois license. Two years of nursing experience with at least one of those years caring for the elderly or chronically ill in a nursing facility, extended care unit, geriatric department, hospice, swing bed unit of a hospital, or other long-term care setting or experience teaching in an accredited nurse aide training program.
