HUM C16 Chicago as Seen on the Big Screen

This course will explore the ways in which Chicago is depicted in cinema. You will specifically examine the representation of Chicago’s architecture, Lake Michigan, streets, food, culture, people and yes, gangsters. Chicago has provided a setting for films for over one hundred years. Some of these films have become classics; others are simply amusing. Each meeting will include a short film screening, film clips, and discussion.
