MET E17 Computer Numerical Control (CNC) I (5 AEC)

Part-programming to perform drilling, milling and turning operations using CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software using the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Projects and Performance Standards. Program verification is via computer simulation software. CNC machine code is produced and post processor editing is covered along with development of parts in a 3D parametric CAD software package. Students can submit their parts for a NIMS Certified evaluation and may qualify for NIMS Credentials.
