Triton to Host Region IV Baseball Tournament May 9-11

Triton will host the NJCAA Region IV Division I baseball tournament May 9-11 at Symonds-Puckett Field. The Trojans who finished the regular season 24-21 earned the top-seed in the four-team double-elimination tournament and will play Thursday at Noon against fourth seeded Olive-Harvey College.

Triton defeated Olive-Harvey in 10-1 and 11-1 in a twin-bill played at Symonds-Puckett field on April 2. Defending Region IV champions South Suburban College (28-13) is the two-seed and will play third seed Kishwaukee College (13-27) in the second tournament game at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

If the Trojans see either South Suburban or Kishwaukee later in the tournament, Triton hopes to carry over the success they had in the regular season as the Trojans swept the season series from each squad.

WRRG 88.9 FM will broadcast Triton’s tournament opener against Olive-Harvey and any of the Trojans games if they advance to Saturday’s championship round. The radio broadcasts will also stream live on Just click the icon “WRRG Streaming Broadcast” on the Triton College baseball team page.
