Peter Jermihov holds the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music Degrees in Choral Music & Conducting from the University of Illinois at Urbana and the Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Theory from Chicago Musical College at Roosevelt University. He has twenty-five years of teaching experience at major state universities and private colleges and has taught and mentored choral musicians, conductors, and singers across the United States.
At Triton College, Jermihov serves as the Director of Choral Activities & Vocal Studies and teaches courses in Music Theory.
As a professional conductor, Jermihov has guest-conducted such internationally known orchestras and choirs as the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Shinsei Nihon Symphony Orchestra of Tokyo, Pro Arte Orchester Wien, Moscow and St. Petersburg Chamber Choirs, and other renown ensembles in the Orient, Eastern Europe, Russia, and the United States.
His articles and editions of choral music appear in the Choral Journal, International Federation of Choral Music Journal, Musica Russica, Inc., PSALM Music Press, and numerous other publications.
Jermihov continues to guest-conduct in the United States and abroad and frequently appears as a clinician and lecturer on choral music and conducting with high school, college, and community choirs in the Chicago area and the Midwest.
