The Triton College Engineering Technology Program offers a comprehensive series
of courses that can lead you to one of two associate's degrees and/or one of four
certificate options.
The degree options provide you with a working knowledge of CAD and basic design
principles involved in the construction of various products and production machines.
They are designed for people seeking a career in the engineering/manufacturing
technology field who have little or no experience in engineering or manufacturing.
Upon completion of one of the degree options, you will be able to seek employment
in an entry-level position within an engineering department for companies that
produce diverse products or in a design-drafting shop.
Also, courses within the degree options do fulfill general education courses that
are transferable to schools offering four-year degrees in an engineering/manufacturing
technology program.
One of the certificate options may be for you if you are already working in the
engineering field and want to add to or upgrade your skills. Only one certificate,
the Engineering Technology/Design Certificate, is designed for people with little
or no experience in the field who want to "jump-start" their career in engineering
technology.
Note: Certificate programs include course work contained within the degree
programs. You can acquire a certificate in a specialized area while working on
your associate's degree.
