WEL E10 Pre-Certification Welding Course
This course provides welding safety training. Students will also receive required welding technical information relating to the Arc welding process, welding print reading and welding symbols. Students’ welding skill level will be determined and their certification path will be ascertained. NOTE: This class is the PREREQUISITE for all welding classes in this program. Waivers are only granted with the consent of the instructor.
WEL E11 Shielded Metal Arc “Stick” Welding (SMAW) 1
The student will become proficient in basic position SMAW welding. Practicing safety the successful student will demonstrate an understanding of SMAW variables including; American Welding society (AWS) mild steel electrode code, set up equipment, “Hobart Welders’ Guide” 5 variables of SMAW, basic terms, string bends and weave bends and proficiency with selected SMAW electrodes. PREREQUISITE: WELE10
WEL E12 Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) II, Advanced Out of Position Welding
The student will add to the safety, skills and technical knowledge taught in Shielded Metal Arc “Stick” Welding (SMAW) I Certification (WEL E02) and the successful student will weld using the SMAW process and selected electrode to weld in the vertical and overhead positions with the goal of AWS D1.1 qualifications. PREREQUISITE: WELE10 and WELE11
WEL E13 Gas Metal Arc Welding GMAW 1, Basic MIG
This course provides training in the technical application and operation of Gas Metal Arc Welding or GMAW (MIG) welding sheet steel in the IG, IF, 2F, and 2G positions. This highly sought after technology will be presented with the objective of industrial application. The successful student will weld sheet steel in the flat and horizontal positions to AWS D1.3 requirements. PREREQUISITE: WELE10
WEL E14 Gas Metal Arc Welding GMAW 2, Technical Aspects of MIG Welding
This course provides the student with more detailed technical Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) skills enabling them to operate the GMAW (MIG) process unassisted in industrial settings. The skills in the operation and application of the GMAW process will allow the successful student to become an independent productive employee in welding manufacturing. The student will learn troubleshooting skills which will enable them to utilize the GMAW process to its fullest advantage. With industrial applications and production speeds as objectives, the successful student will weld at a higher speed and quality level than previously able to. PREREQUISITE: WELE10 and WELE13
WEL E15 Gas Metal Arc Welding GMAW 3, Advanced (MIG) Welding
This advanced course provides the student with knowledge of required quality and skills required to operate the Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) process in advanced industrial settings. The skills in the operation and application of the GMAW process allow the student to become an asset to welding manufacturing. This highly sought after technology will be presented with industrial applications and production speeds. The successful student will weld various thickness of steel using short circuit, globular, spray and pulsed spray transfer to produce Certification tests to AWS D1.1 requirements. PREREQUISITE: WELE10 and WELE14
WEL E17 Gas Tungsten Arc Welding 1, TIG Welding of Aluminum
This course provides training in the technical application and operation of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or GTAW (TIG) welding aluminum in the 1G, 1F, 2F and 2G positions. This highly sought after technology will be presented with industrial applications. The successful student will weld aluminum sheet metal certification tests in the flat and horizontal positions to AWS D1.2 requirements. PREREQUISITE: WELE10
WEL E18 Gas Tungsten Arc Welding II, (TIG) Welding of Stainless Steel
This course provides training in the technical application and operation of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or GTAW (TIG) welding of stainless steel in the 1G, 1F, 2F and 2G positions. This highly sought after technology will be presented with industrial applications.
