Then you’ll take to the “canvas” and create your very own work of art. By learning how to match different techniques and materials with different color combinations, you’ll be able to create paintings that look more professional. Projects will include production of technical flat drawings of garments, and textile pattern design and application. Students examine fashion design within the context of fine art forms and practical commercial design. Mass market, haute couture (high fashion) and lifestyle accessory design, as well as social, historic and aesthetic influences on fashion design are studied. (Recommended for students, ages 14-18.)
