COLLEGE COUNCIL TO HOLD "BEER & BRATS" INFORMATIONAL SESSION
College Council is made up of representatives from every employee group and area of the college. It’s important for the college community to know what College Council is and how it works. Please plan to attend a very important and informational event to learn more about College Council.

Come for some seasonal refreshments and take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the important work of College Council and the Functional Committees.


COLLEGE COUNCIL STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The College Council will engage in participatory decision making, strategic planning, and the alignment of resources to best fulfill the college mission. This body will also serve in an advisory capacity to the president in matters relating to advancement of the institution and assess the impact of those decisions on the college community. --July, 2008


COLLEGE COUNCIL WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS FOR FY 10
A new Hourly Representative, Emanuel Wilder, was appointed at the August College Council meeting. Mr. Wilder is a member of the Marketing Department.

COLLEGE COUNCIL GOALS FOR FY 10
At its annual Planning Meeting/Retreat on Monday, July 27, 2009, College Council established the following goals for the upcoming year:
  • Implement College Council Communication Plan.
  • Advocate for the fulfillment of the College’s mission and vision.
  • College Council will monitor, assess and communicate the effectiveness of the five-year master plan.
  • Promote a culture of evidence to advance the institution.
Objectives will be created under each of the goals as College Council works throughout the year to accomplish these goals.

COLLEGE COUNCIL SETS MEETING SCHEDULE FOR FY 10
College Council will hold regular monthly meetings on the following days: August 31, 2009; September 21, 2009; October 19, 2009; November 16, 2009; December 14, 2009; January 25, 2010; February 15, 2010; March 22, 2010; April 12, 2010; May 17, 2010; June 14, 2010.

Meeting Schedule, FY 10 
Regular monthly meetings are scheduled, although the President may convene the body more frequently, if she deems such actions to be necessary and in the best interest of the College. When you go to the Meeting Schedule page, click on the links at the individual meeting dates to see the agenda or minutes for that meeting.
Functional Committees 
Four standing committees of the College Council represent the four major functional areas of the college: Academic Senate, Student Services, Business Services, and Human Resources.
