The Triton College Engineering Technology Program offers a comprehensive series
of courses that can lead you to an associate degree in Engineering Technology and/or one or more certificate options.
The degree option provides you with a working knowledge of CAD and basic design
principles involved in the design and manufacture of various products and teh equipment that makes them, including electrical aspects of the product/machines involved.
The Engineering Technology degree is designed for people seeking a career in the engineering/manufacturing
technology field. Prior knowledge and/or experience in this area is not required to be successful in the program.
Upon completion of the degree option, you will be able to seek employment
in an entry-level position within an engineering department for companies that
produce diverse products or in a design-drafting shop.
Concurrently, you will be able to also transfer your program credits to a 4-yr university program that offers a Bachelores degree in Engineering/Manufacturing Technology. Schools with such programs include: Northern Illinois University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Illinois State University, Southern Illinois University, and Purdue University (closest campus, Hammond, IN).
If you are looking for short term goals (wait on the degree), know that one of our certificate options may be for you. They are also great for people already working in the
engineering field who want to add to or upgrade their skills. Also know that the courses in the certificates are also found within the degree. So, when you are ready to work for your degree, you are not starting "all over". Coursework from the certificates do count for the degree!
