1. Opportunity
RSVP volunteers serve in capacities which call on their interests, experiences, skills, training and willingness to keep learning.
2. Impact
RSVP volunteers make a difference in their community. Currently, 800 volunteers have provided 150,000 hours of volunteer service in West Suburban Cook County and Southwest DuPage County.
3. Annual Luncheon
RSVP recognizes the important contributions of volunteers. In appreciation for their work, RSVP thanks them with a Volunteer Luncheon.
4. Insurance
RSVP volunteers are covered by supplemental accident, personal liability and excess automobile liability insurance. Volunteers must still carry all insurance required by state law.
5. Make a Difference
RSVP volunteers are a valuable resource in our community. Be a part of a growing group that makes a difference in their community.
6. Community
RSVP volunteers regularly serve as leaders, mentors, tutors, companions and allies to hundreds in the community who are in need. There are positions and assignments to suit almost any ability and interest.
7. Membership
There is no cost. As an RSVP volunteer you become a member of a national volunteer organization.
8. Newsletter
A newsletter is provided to all RSVP volunteers. The RSVP Volunteer Voice provides news regarding special programs/activities, community events, volunteer stations and issues of importance to adults.
9. Programs
RSVP provides programs for life enrichment and understanding. Throughout the year, RSVP holds educational and social activities giving RSVP volunteers the opportunity to gain insight on topics affecting adults and a chance to meet and socialize with fellow volunteers.
10. Reimbursement
Volunteers serve without compensation. Upon need or request, RSVP can reimburse volunteers for transportation or meals. The main purpose of reimbursement is to assist our volunteers who may be hindered by volunteering due to transportation or meal costs.
