The Triton College Reference Desk is scheduled with professional librarians whenever the library is open. For more information, call (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3698.
  • INDIVIDUAL REFERENCE SERVICE

  • RESEARCH SKILLS INSTRUCTION FOR CLASSES
Faculty may request general library orientations or specialized instructions sessions for their classes. Call the Reference Desk at (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3698, to request a date and time. General orientations require 24 hours notice, and specialized sessions require seven days notice.

CIRCULATION
  • CHECK OUT PROCEDURES
Materials from the circulating collection may be checked out at the Circulation Desk by Triton employees, students and community members. Triton employees use their staff I.D.s to check out. Students use their student I.D.s. Triton community residents may check out up to three items using a valid Suburban Library System card. Franklin Park residents will be issued a temporary Triton pass. For loan periods, please consult the Fine Schedule.

  • RESERVE MATERIALS
Triton faculty often place materials on reserve for student use. The materials may be from the library or from their personal collection. Most reserve materials are limited to Room Use Only, but some may be checked out for a shortened loan period. These materials are available at the Circulation Desk by the instructor's name. For more information, call (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3215.

  • INTERLIBRARY LOAN
Books or articles not owned by the Triton Library are often available from other institutions through interlibrary loan. Triton staff and students only may request materials to be sent to Triton. Consult with a librarian for more information on how to locate and request materials. Completed forms are submitted at the Circulation Desk. When the items arrive, the circulation staff will notify the requestor and hold the materials at the Circulation Desk for pick up. For more information, call (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3216.
