Elastic and sound waves, electromagnetic waves, geometrical and wave optics, interference, polarization, relativity, quantum mechanics, the uncertainty principle, Schrodinger's equation, the hydrogen atom and atomic physics. Calculus-based with an emphasis on problem solving.

Prerequisite: PHY 107◊ (minimum grade "C"); MAT 235◊ or concurrent enrollment
