• Triton College Facts

    Dedicated to student success, Triton College, Illinois Community College District 504, encompasses 63 square miles in the western suburbs of Chicago and includes approximately 300,000 residents and 25 communities. The college is known for its modern, attractive campus; diverse career, university transfer and continuing education (noncredit) programs; and high-quality faculty. Triton's low tuition and open-admission policy have greatly expanded the accessibility of post-secondary education to district residents.

    Triton College is a participant in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), a statewide agreement that allows transfer of the completed Illinois transferable General Education Core Curriculum between participating institutions.

    Various degrees and certificates can be earned at Triton, including an Associate in Arts, Associate in Fine Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science, Associate in General Studies, Career Certificate or Advanced Career Certificate. Career degree and certificate programs support students preparing to enter the workforce, as well as professionals seeking to gain a competitive edge in the workplace.

    Triton Students
    The college serves the educational needs of a racially and ethnically diverse student body numbering more than 12,000 students each semester.

    Triton Faculty
    Many of Triton's faculty hold Ph.D.s from some of the finest universities in the nation. There are more than 100 full-time faculty members and over 600 part-time faculty whose main focus is teaching.

    Triton's Continuing Education
    Approximately 850 continuing education courses are offered each semester to provide residents with an opportunity to investigate a personal interest, improve their current job skills or learn new ones.

    Triton Facilities
    Triton's 100-acre campus includes 15 classroom buildings, many connected by enclosed walkways; more than 75 specialized labs; a comprehensive library; a 15,000-square-foot gymnasium and a 412-seat auditorium. It also is home to the third largest planetarium in Illinois, the Cernan Earth and Space Center.

    The Career Services Center offers comprehensive career planning services, resources, and access to information for individuals (students, graduates and community members) seeking to get better jobs, start new careers, or re-entering the workforce. Our staff is committed to helping you prepare for career options that match your individual skills, values, interests and goals.     Triton College Cernan Earth and Space Center Star Store
    The Cernan Earth and Space Center's Star Store gift shop offers an assortment of unique gifts, many related to the popular themes of astronomy, space exploration and the study of our own planet Earth. Books, T-shirts, sweatshirts, binoculars, science discovery kits, games, posters and unique toys are just a few of the many items for sale.

    Child Care
    A variety of child care programs are available on our campus.

    Triton College Child Development Center offers Flex-time, a special program for students with children. While students attend classes, children learn in a safe, caring environment on the college campus. A nominal fee per hour is charged. Children must be between the ages of 3 and 7.

    The Triton College Child Development Center also offers a full-day Kindergarten. All Kindergarten fees include before and after school care, a hot, nutritious lunch including two snacks, and all curriculum materials and supplies.

    Preschool full-day and half-day programs are available for children 3 to 5 years of age and a toddler program is available for children 15 months to 3 years of age.

    Hospitality Dining Room
    Triton College's Hospitality Program runs a fully operational dining room that allows students to apply classroom studies with practical work experience. Students apply their trade by working in Triton's Hospitality Dining Room, Cafe 64.

    Triton's Hospitality Bakery is a fully operational retail bakery and culinary laboratory for Hospitality students. The Bakery offers students valuable practice in creating confectionery delights as well as hands-on experience in operating a retail business. Open to the public, the Bakery accepts special orders via phone. You also can visit our shop in person to place a special order or to purchase our exquisite desserts and delicious artisan breads.

    To order from the Hospitality Bakery, please call (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3996. We return all messages promptly. Special orders require a minimum of one week's notice.

    The Triton College Hospitality Bakery is located in the Student Center, adjacent to the cafeteria.

    We have the ticket to your entertainment! In addition to providing abundant learning opportunities, Triton College hosts a vast assortment of other activities that enrich the lives of students, faculty members, staff and the surrounding community.
