Access to Literacy
The Access to Literacy Program is designed to help adults improve basic reading, writing and computing skills. Volunteer tutors are trained to assist students by offering one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions.
Adult Basic Education and English Language Acquistion (ELA, formerly ESL) tutoring is available for individuals who need to improve their reading and writing skills. Adult Basic Education students are native speakers of English who read, write and compute below the 9th grade level and ELA students are individuals whose first language is something other than English.
If you, or someone you know, could benefit from our service or if you would like to volunteer some of your free time to tutor an adult learner, we would love to have you!
