About : The freshman from Taft out-dueled South Suburban's ace Joe Greenfield to help give Triton a key 4-1 road victory over their Region IV Division I rival April 4. Rivera allowed one earned run on seven hits. But what sparked Rivera's strong outing was throwing an efficient 109 pitches. "The bottom line was that he threw a lot of strikes today and kept his pitch count down," head coach Harry Torgerson said about Rivera. "Even when South Suburban started to rally, he was able to get them to hit several ground balls and lazy pop flies and credit our defense for making plays behind him."

About : Coach Torgerson on the Trojans big three-run sixth inning that lifted Triton to a 4-1 win April 4 at South Suburban College. "That inning was a perfect example of Trojan baseball," Torgerson said. "We have good team speed and always tell the team about putting the ball in play and making contact. That's how we've been winning all year."
