The following are events coming up at Triton College. All of the events listed are free and open to the public and will take place on Triton’s River Grove campus, located at 2000 Fifth Ave., unless otherwise stated.

Dec. 2-13
Fall Student Exhibition, Triton College Art Gallery
See the work of Triton’s talented students during the 2013-2014 academic year. Triton College offers instruction in drawing, painting, ceramics, design, photography and graphic design. Put all of those together and you have a great offering of art in many forms. A large portion of the works on display will also be available for purchase. A closing reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, in the art gallery. Light refreshments will be served. Dec. 4
Discover Triton: Explore Your Opportunities, 6 p.m., Room B-130A&B of the Student Center (B-Building)
Students who’d like to learn more about Triton’s many programs should attend Discover Triton: Explore Your Opportunities, a program that will highlight a different Triton area of study each month. Students can hear from faculty and tour the classrooms and labs for that respective program, as well as receive information on admission and financial aid. From 6 to 7:30 p.m., the School of Arts and Sciences will be explored. Reservations are strongly recommended. Dec. 12
Triton College Fall Jazz Concert, 7:30 p.m., Performing Arts Center of the Robert M. Collins Center (R-Building)

Dec. 16
Winter Band Concert, 7:30 p.m., Performing Arts Center of the Robert M. Collins Center (R-Building)
The program features the Triton College Community Band in its annual winter program. The 40-member group performs a wide variety of pieces that represent the principal periods that make up the history of the modern concert band. This includes overtures, marches, colorful program pieces, and instrumental features together with current pop styles. A portion of the program will be devoted to familiar holiday selections. Dec. 17
Job Club Meeting, 11 a.m., Room B-140 of the Student Center (B-Building)
Triton College’s Career Services Center will have its monthly Job Club meeting, in an effort to help people with their job search, while also serving as a support group. The club meets once a month to discuss a particular topic or to listen to a guest speaker. The Job Club is open to everyone, including community members. (708) 456-0300, ext. 3789.

Jan. 11 *JUST ADDED*
Super Saturday registration event, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Student Center
At Super Saturday, students will have access to everything they need to register for spring 2014 classes at Triton College in one day! Current and prospective students can take placement exams, complete the orientation process, meet with academic counselors and register for classes. Students can also meet with financial aid advisors and complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in the same day. CERNAN EARTH AND SPACE CENTER EVENTS:

Public Shows, Cernan Earth and Space Center, Triton College, 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove
From Dec. 6-29, the Cernan Earth and Space Center brings an array of new and favorite shows to inform and entertain families on astronomy at the planetarium. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. (except Dec. 14 for the Monthly Skywatch) and 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sundays. Monthly Skywatch, 7:30 p.m., Cernan Earth and Space Center, Triton College, 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove
Tour the nighttime sky during Cernan Earth and Space Center’s Monthly Skywatch program. The evening includes a presentation on the latest news from NASA in the space center’s dome theater and outdoor skygazing with telescopes focused on the waxing gibbous moon and perhaps an assortment of star clusters and double stars. Admission for the indoor planetarium portion of the Monthly Skywatch is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 2 to 12 and senior citizens ages 55 and older. The outdoor telescope session is free.
