Spanish Language Interpretation Certificate

The need for Spanish language interpreters is expected to continue to experience growth for the foreseeable future. To meet this growing need Triton College's School of Continuing Education is now offering a Certificate in Spanish Language Interpretation.

The certificate covers three major categories in four semesters: Legal Proceedings, Medical Situations I and II and School/Educational Situations.

The certificate program is open entry and may be started with any course in the sequence except SOC E22 (Medical Settings II) which requires completion of SOC E21 (Medical Settings I) as a prerequisite.

The certificate requires the completion of four classes:
   • SOC E18 - Spanish Interpreter Training - Legal Settings 
   • SOC E19 - Spanish Interpreter Training - School Settings
   • SOC E20 - Spanish Interpreter Training - Medical Settings I
   • SOC E21 - Spanish Interpreter Training - Medical Settings II (Medical Spanish I is a prerequisite)

IMPORTANT! Students must be completely fluent in BOTH English & AND Spanish to register for this class.
