Please join us at Triton College for a free half day workshop about our Illinois oak ecosystem, past, present and future. Topics will include the history and characteristics of oak ecosystems, conservation and recovery efforts, threats to oaks, and the important roles communities and homeowners can play in oak ecosystem recovery. Speakers will include Ross Alexander, Oak Ecosystem Recovery Program Coordinator; Tricia Bethke, Forest Pest Outreach Coordinator, Morton Arboretum; Becky Collins, Senior Resource Ecologist, Forest Preserve District of Cook County; Nina Baki, Community Outreach Coordinator, FPDCC and Val Kehoe, Horticulture Program Coordinator, University of Illinois Extension. Free. Registration is required. Space is limited to fifty attendees. Box lunch will be provided. Free parking.
