Alumni Association Scholarships

The Triton College Alumni Association is committed to supporting student success. To assist students and alumni in the pursuit of academic goals, the Alumni Association is offering two scholarship opportunities for students and alumni. Information about the scholarship opportunities and applications are included below.

Alumni Legacy Scholarship
A Scholarship Opportunity for Triton Students Related to Triton Alumni
The Alumni Legacy Scholarship was established in 2014 by the inaugural members of the Triton Alumni Association Council to honor Triton College alumni and to support the education of immediate relatives of Triton College alumni to promote a lasting legacy of a Triton education.

Scholarship Amount: Up to $250 per semester for tuition, books and fees.

Criteria:
   • GPA of 2.5 or above.
   • Full-time or part-time student.
   • Degree or certificate-seeking student.
   • Immediate relative of a Triton College graduate (child, grandchild, sibling, parent).

Requirements:
   • 
Completion of Alumni Legacy Scholarship application.
   • 
Typewritten essay of no more than 500 words describing the impact of a Triton College education on the applicant and the applicant’s immediate relative that graduated from Triton College. Essay must be submitted with the scholarship application to be considered complete.
   • 
Scholarship recipient must complete a service requirement in support of the activities of the Alumni Association (i.e. volunteering for an event, speaking to groups of alumni or students, etc.).
   • 
Must be enrolled in following fall or following spring semester after deadlines for application (i.e. must enroll in fall 2014 semester when submitting application for scholarship by June 1, 2014).

Deadline for Application:
   • June 1 for following fall semester
   • October 1 for following spring semester

All scholarship applications will be reviewed by members of the Triton Alumni Council. Scholarship recipients will be given written notice of the scholarship award.

Elmhurst College Triton Alumni Council Scholarship
A Scholarship Opportunity for Triton Alumni Continuing their Education through the School for Professional Studies at Elmhurst College
The Elmhurst College Triton Alumni Council Scholarship was established in 2014 by Dr. Timothy Ricordati, Triton Alumni Council member and Dean of the School for Professional Studies at Elmhurst College, with the intent to support the education of a Triton College graduate that is an outstanding adult learner who transfers into an accelerated degree completion program offered through the School for Professional Studies at Elmhurst College.

Accelerated degree completion programs at Elmhurst help students earn an undergraduate degree quickly, while evening and online classes accommodate a variety of schedules. Accelerated degree completion programs offered include the Elmhurst Management Program (Business Administration), Cyber Security, Digital Cinema, Information Technology, Organizational Leadership and Communication, and Pre-clinical Psychology.

Scholarship Amount:
Annual award of $3,500 per term at Elmhurst College

Criteria:
   • 
Complete an associate’s degree at Triton College.
   • 
A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale at Triton College at the time of application
   • 
Admitted to an accelerated degree completion program offered through the School for Professional Studies at Elmhurst College.
   • 
Maintain full-time enrollment (12 or more semester hours per term) and minimum 3.00 cumulative Elmhurst College GPA while completing degree at Elmhurst College
 
Requirements:
   • 
Completion of Elmhurst College Triton Alumni Council Scholarship application .
   • 
Typewritten essay of no more than 500 words outlining applicant’s personal and professional goals and how a degree from Elmhurst College will help the applicant reach his/her stated goals. Essay must be submitted with the scholarship application to be considered complete.

Deadline for Application:
   • July 15th for fall semester enrollment
   • December 1st for spring semester enrollment

All scholarship applications will be reviewed by members of the Triton Alumni Council. Scholarship recipients will be given written notice of the scholarship award after August 1st for the fall semester award and after December 15th for the spring semester award.
