Katerina Trankina, a Triton College graduate and assistant instructor in the Visual, Performing and Communication Arts (VIC) Department, says Triton College transformed her life – bringing both meaning and career opportunities.
“Anything is possible if you try,” said Trankina, quoting her favorite instructor, Jill LoBianco- Bartalis. “It is never too late to follow your passion.”
Growing up in the Czech Republic, Trankina was always interested in art. As a young girl, she immigrated to the United States alone, trying to find her way. Settling in River Grove as an adult, her life took a difficult turn after the death of her husband.
“My daughter was starting school, and I wanted to use art as a way to heal,” she explained. “Since I live in River Grove, I decided to enroll in an art class at Triton.” read more...
