The public are welcome to attend the monthly meetings and telescope observing of the Chicago Astronomical Society at the Cernan Earth and Space Center at Triton College.

The next meeting of the Chicago Astronomical Society will be Saturday, May 23, 2026.

- Monthly meetings of the Chicago Astronomical Society (CAS) are held at the Cernan Earth and Space Center at Triton College.
- See the campus map for the closest parking.
- CAS meetings typically start at 5:30 p.m. with informal astro chat/conversation. The main presentation runs from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, sometimes running a little longer with questions.
- If the sky is clear, telescope observing is provided at approximately the times above. If it is cloudy, rainy, or very windy, observing will be canceled.
- Astro chat and the presentation are recommended for ages 10 and older. Telescope observing is suitable for ages 4 and up.
- You do not have to attend the meeting to drop in for telescope observing.

Come join us for FREE Star Parties and Telescope Observing at the Cernan Earth and Space Center. Both are open to the public.

- Visitors are also welcome to attend the monthly Chicago Astronomical Society meetings which usually runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. before telescope observing. The CAS meetings are recommended for ages 10 and up.
