Engineering Pathways
Start your journey at Triton College as a Associate in Engineering Science (AES) student and get on track to guaranteed admission to the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign’s Grainger College of Engineering. The Engineering Pathways program offered at Triton College is a smart and cost-effective way to guarantee transfer admission into the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This competitive program is designed for high school seniors who plan to enroll as first-time college students for the fall semester following graduation.
Academic Program Requirements:
- Follow our Engineering Pathways Plan of Study
- Enroll as a full-time student (minimum 15 credit hours every semester)
- Earn a B or better in each required course
- Maintain a 3.5 GPA overall and in technical coursework, which includes:
- Chemistry
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Math
- Physics
- Meet regularly with academic advisors.

Enrollment Steps – Fall 2026:
- Apply to Triton College as a Associate in Engineering Science (AES) student
- Submit required materials to engineeringpathways@triton.edu
- ACT/SAT scores
- High school transcript (including 7th semester grades and final semester courses in progress for Spring 2026)
- Take the proctored ALEKS math placement test through our Testing Center.
- Student must have approval from admissions to take the ALEKS.
- Student must score a 76 or higher.
- Complete the Engineering Pathways Application between January 5, 2026 - April 5, 2026
- Email engineeringpathways@triton.edu to notify us you have submitted your application and submitted all required materials to UIUC.
