RIVER GROVE, Ill. – The Triton College Alumni Association has selected owner/operator, HVAC-carrier dealership owner, Al Lechowski, as one of four Alumni Wall of Fame inductees. This honor is awarded to individuals who have made a significant impact in their profession, community and beyond.

“I chose to attend Triton because of the location and the Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) program that it offered,” said Lechowski. “Since Triton’s program was close to home, I was still able to work full time while attending college. I looked forward to school because I enjoyed the classes. Triton has always been an outstanding college.”

With a deep passion for cars and the automotive world, Lechowski first enrolled in Triton’s Automotive Program. His father supported his son’s choice but believed that pursuing a career in HVAC would offer more possibilities.

“The one trade my father couldn’t teach me was heating and air-conditioning,” said Lechowski. “He convinced me there was always going to be a need for heating and air conditioning, so I switched programs.”

After completing the HVAC program, Lechowski started his own company, Al Air, Inc., operating out of his home. He admits the business started off slow but quickly grew, thanks to the support of the Norridge and Harwood Heights communities.

“We have been in business for 43 years,” Lechowski said proudly. Providing “people heat and air conditioning when they need it most gives me great pride.”

Lechowski goes above and beyond for his customers, working after hours and on holidays to accommodate their needs. He wants to ensure his clients are comfortable in all weather conditions and is always available when they need him.

“Once a customer trusts me to put in a new HVAC system, I will not let them down,” he explained.

Today, Al Air, Inc. has grown into one of the top “Factory Authorized Dealer” in the area, recognized for its large volumes of sales and repairs in the Norridge/Harwood Heights communities.

“Since attending Triton College, my company has grown 10-15 percent per year,” he said. “I have 10 employees and I’m well known throughout the community thanks to referrals from my current customers.”

Lechowski said it’s truly “an honor” to be selected for Triton’s Wall of Fame, noting that his education at Triton played a key role in his successful and taught him valuable business life lessons.

“As a Wall of Fame inductee, I’m honored and feel like I’m making a difference in my community,” said Lechowski.
