Celebrate Black History Month at Triton College

RIVER GROVE, Ill. – Triton College is celebrating Black History Month with a series of campus events, including a special athletic reception and entrepreneurial networking opportunities.
 

Black History Month Basketball Reception

Cheer on the Triton Trojans’ women’s and men’s basketball teams on Thursday, Feb. 6 in the George T. Jorndt Athletic Complex Gymnasium (R Building). The women’s game tips off at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7 p.m. Between games, enjoy a special reception with giveaways (while supplies last). All are welcome to this event, sponsored by Triton’s Professional Development Center and Heritage Committee.

Legacy to L.L.C.: Celebrating the Journey of Black Entrepreneurs
Triton is hosting Legacy to L.L.C., an event celebrating and honoring Black entrepreneurs on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in the Student Center Cafeteria (B Building). Connect with industry professionals, attend empowering workshops, and support Black-owned businesses:

JOOLS TV – The Original Trapery Rhymes
11 a.m.  
Discover how JOOLS TV, an animated YouTube channel, blends education, music, and fun to inspire the next generation. Children are welcome to attend.

Workshop 2

The Power of the Pitch
1 p.m.
Learn the art of crafting a compelling pitch that captivates investors, partners, and customers.

Legacy L.L.C. is sponsored by Triton’s Black Student Union, Student Life, and Heritage Committee.

Celebrating Black Architects
The Triton College Library will host a lecture honoring Black architects with Michael Rogers, instructor, Triton’s Architecture Department. The lecture will take place Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. in the Library’s Upper Commons (A Building).
