Triton College to Host Annual Car Show on April 27

Car Show is Attended by Hundreds

RIVER GROVE, Ill. – Kick off the car show season at Triton College’s annual Car Show on Sunday, April 27. Hundreds of car enthusiasts from across the Midwest will come together to share one common passion–automotives.

The show will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the West Campus parking lots at Fifth Avenue and Hemingway Drive.

Greg Neuman of Barlett, Ill. took home the Best in Show award at the 2024 Car Show with his 1967 Playmouth RT. For Neuman, the win felt like a rewarding milestone.

“This is my third time participating in this car show,” said Neuman, a Triton College alum. “It’s a great time.”

Presented by Triton College, the show is open at no cost to car exhibitors and spectators alike. The show offers a lively day of classic and antique cars, trucks and modern vehicles, along with special awards, food, music and family-friendly fun. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Alcohol, tobacco, and pets are not allowed on the college’s campus.

“This event is a great way to bring people together to celebrate automotive craftsmanship while also highlighting our college’s automotive programs,” said Ken Davis, Automotive Department Chairperson.

Tours of the Automotive Program will be held at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the T Building. Each tour includes a brief program overview by an automotive faculty member, followed by a 50-minute walking tour. To register, click on one of the three time slots above. Check-in will begin 15 minutes before each start time.

Triton’s Automotive Program offers a variety of associate degree options, including the Automotive Technology Degree, while staying up to date with the latest technology standards to ensure graduates are well-prepared for success in the automotive field. Additionally, the program provides several certificate options, such as Automotive Brake and Suspension, Automotive Engine Performance, Automotive Transmission Repair and Light Vehicle Maintenance.

Triton's programs offer practical, hands-on training in bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance for automobiles and light trucks.

In case of inclement weather on the day of Car Show, a rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 4.

Car show exhibitors are encouraged to register in advance at triton.edu/carshowreg to secure their spots and avoid long check-in lines on the day of the event. Pre-registration will close Friday, April 25 at noon.
