RIVER GROVE, Ill. – Triton College honored the academic achievements of its graduating class of 2025 during its 59th Commencement Ceremony, held Saturday, May 17, at the Rosemont Theatre. This year, Triton proudly celebrates nearly 2,000 graduates earning degrees and certificates—ranging in age from 15 to 76.

On behalf of the Triton College Board of Trustees, Vice Chair Diane Viverito offered heartfelt congratulations to the graduates.

“I offer my congratulations to each of you for your significant accomplishment being celebrated here today,” said Viverito. “Your hard work and the personal sacrifices you made in reaching this important plateau are a true reflection of both your abilities and commitment.”

Mark Kouria, president of the Triton College Student Association (TCSA), delivered a moving student reflection during the ceremony.

“Triton isn't just where we learned, it's where we grew, connected, and proved what we're capable of,” said Kouria. “We led. We listened. We showed up. We supported one another. And now, we get to celebrate all of it. Congratulations class of 2025!”

Students recognized for academic excellence and scholastic achievement were invited to stand and be applauded for their hard work and dedication. The commencement concluded with a video presentation, followed by the conferring of degrees and certificates.

Graduate Emy Rodriguez, who earned spots on both the President’s Honors List and Dean’s Honors List, expressed deep gratitude for the support she received throughout her journey.

“It feels amazing to graduate today,” said Rodriquez. “I accomplished something significant. I didn’t graduate just for myself, but for my family, as well. I am teary-eyed.”

Graduate Dajahnay Johnson also shared her pride in completing her associate degree at age 25.

“I didn’t let anybody make me feel like I was too old to obtain my degree,” said Johnson. “Although at times I felt discouraged, I knew that I wasn’t going to stop until I reached the top. I’m so happy.”
