The Trojans competed in the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Utica, N.Y., last weekend. Following exemplary performances in several team and individual events, Triton earned a total of 12 All-American designations.
RIVER GROVE, Ill. — Nine Triton College student-athletes earned All-American honors at the 2026 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend, with several Trojans achieving the distinction in multiple events.
Competing in Utica, N.Y., from May 7–9, the Trojans delivered standout performances that resulted in 12 total All-American designations under the leadership of Head Coach Jason Guevarra. The achievement brings Triton College’s historic All-American count to 307.
In Women’s Track and Field, the team of Mariana Borini, Megan Bolda, Jayla Gardner and Joaliz Rodriguez secured a fourth‑place finish in the 4x400‑meter relay, earning All-American recognition.
On the men’s side, Jamie Favela, Philip Roche, Gabriel Arreola and Israel Rodriguez placed seventh in the 4x800‑meter relay to claim All-American honors. Donald Davis added to the tally with an eighth‑place finish in the shot put.
Bolda also captured All-American status individually, placing eighth in the women’s 800‑meter race. Arreola and Favela each earned a second All-American distinction for their performances in the men’s 800‑meter and 5,000‑meter events, respectively.
“Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate what it means to represent Triton College with excellence,” said Director of Athletics A.J. Blahut. “Earning 12 All-American honors at one of the biggest stages in NJCAA athletics is a testament to their commitment, resilience and competitive spirit. We could not be prouder of how they performed.”
These accomplishments cap an exceptional year for Triton College athletics. Earlier this semester, wrestler Damari Reed earned All-American honors after finishing third with a 6–1 record at the NJCAA Wrestling Championships.
Women’s basketball standout Jayla Rankin also achieved All-American recognition after leading the Trojans to the NJCAA Region 4 Division I Championship in March. Rankin, who recently committed to the University of West Georgia, was additionally named Region 4 Player of the Year.
