Triton College Board of Trustees Select Diane Viverito as Chair
RIVER GROVE, Ill.—The Triton College Board of Trustees selected Diane Viverito of Melrose Park as its next Chairperson during its Oct. 20, 2026, meeting.
Viverito has served on the Board since 1995 and most recently served as Vice Chairperson since 2020. She has also led the Board’s Academic Affairs/Student Affairs Committee since 2009.
“Diane has given more than 30 years of faithful service to this Board and to the campus community. Her steady leadership and deep commitment to our mission have shaped this institution in lasting ways, and her guidance as Chairperson will continue to move Triton College forward,” said Triton College President Mary-Rita Moore.
Viverito previously served as Chief of Staff to Cook County Commissioner Peter N. Silvestri and prior to that worked for the Village of Elmwood Park. She also served on the Elmwood Park District 401 School Board for 10 years prior to her election to Triton’s Board of Trustees. While she previously resided in Elmwood Park, she currently lives in Melrose Park—both within Triton’s district of 25 communities.
The Board of Trustees also selected Rich Regan of Riverside to serve as Vice Chairperson. Regan has served on the Board since 2019. Tracy Jennings of Westchester has served as the Board’s Secretary since 2022.
Per Board policy, officer positions – Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Secretary – are selected annually at the Board’s reorganization meeting each April, while the Trustees themselves are selected by voters directly within the district to each serve six-year terms. Viverito was selected by fellow trustees to fill the vacancy in the chairperson position.
