Philosophy majors are well prepared for leadership roles whatever path they take, whether in business, law, politics, medicine or education. Through Triton’s Philosophy program, you will develop and strengthen skills in reasoning and argument construction to become a better thinker. Studying philosophy prepares you to answer moral and ethical questions that relate to a variety of careers. Philosophy students learn how to structure arguments, write precisely and clearly, and communicate their ideas in an orderly, persuasive and unambiguous way. Philosophy courses teach students how to read, comprehend and summarize conceptually difficult material. In short, studying philosophy trains one to be a better, clearer thinker. Earning an Associate’s degree at Triton can provide a seamless transfer process into private and public colleges and universities in the state of Illinois. From the moment you enroll at Triton College you will have a network of success to ensure you reach your goals. With the help of our dedicated advisors and transfer center you will be supported in developing a tailor fit academic plan, explore your options and transition in to the university of your choice.  Triton is also a participant of the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), a statewide agreement that allows transfer of the completed Illinois General Core Curriculum between participating IAI institutions. This ensures that your general education courses will transfer, helping you earn your 4-year degree as quickly as possible.

This pathway is for students who intend to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree at a four-year school. Students must meet general education requirements for the Associate in Arts degree, and should complete the remaining required semester hours according to the requirements of the four-year school to which they plan to transfer. Our advising team can assist you with creating an academic plan tailored fit to your transfer program and destination to ensure you are on-track.
