Are you a political aficionado, fascinated by how political systems work? By pursuing Triton’s degree in Political Science, you will master the assumptions that underlie political science and develop research skills to analyze the ways societal and political issues connect. Triton’s Associate in Arts in Political Science goes beyond a basic understanding of the American political system, helping you develop the necessary research skills needed to analyze complex sociopolitical issues. With these skills, you will be prepared for work as analysts or aides in local, state or national legislative offices, among other roles. After completing a bachelor’s degree, many graduates go on to law school or graduate programs in political science, social science, urban planning or public administration. Earning an Associate’s degree at Triton can provide a seamless transfer process into private and public colleges and universities in the state of Illinois. From the moment you enroll at Triton College you will have a network of success to ensure you reach your goals. With the help of our dedicated advisors and transfer center you will be supported in developing a tailor fit academic plan, explore your options and transition in to the university of your choice. Triton is also a participant of the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), a statewide agreement that allows transfer of the completed Illinois General Core Curriculum between participating IAI institutions. This ensures that your general education courses will transfer, helping you earn your 4-year degree as quickly as possible.
This pathway is for students who intend to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree at a four-year school. Students must meet general education requirements for the Associate in Arts degree, and should complete the remaining required semester hours according to the requirements of the four-year school to which they plan to transfer. Our advising team can assist you with creating an academic plan tailored fit to your transfer program and destination to ensure you are on-track.
