Triton College Radiologic Technology Students Earn Third Place in Scholar Bowl at Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists (ISSRT) Conference

RIVER GROVE, Ill. – Triton College’s Radiologic Technology students earned third place at the Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists (ISSRT) Conference’s Scholar Bowl, held April 22-25 in Bloomington, Illinois.
Students Isabella Giannoni, Adriana Georgiades, Suzette Morales and Clariza Villa represented Triton in the competition and were awarded medals, ribbons and a trophy for their achievement.
The Scholar Bowl challenged participants with questions similar to those found on their industry-standard certification exam.
“We couldn’t use any technology when participating in the competition,” said Georgiades. “We had 20 seconds to answer the question. We were happy to beat local community colleges and get third place.”
Giannoni noted that the conference also featured review sessions with question and answers to help prepare for their final board exams.
“This program is very intense and accelerated,” she said. “The four of us are excited to graduate and end our semester with this achievement.”
“This conference was a good indicator of how well our students are doing,” said Nancy Rizo, Triton’s Radiologic Technology Chairperson. “Triton College offers a great program, and our students are destined for success.”
Triton’s Radiologic Program offers comprehensive educational experiences that empower students with the knowledge and skills needed for successful employment in the field. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), receiving a full 8-year accreditation in 2022.
