When do I have to submit my Graduation Petition?
The August 2019 graduation petition deadline was June 5, 2019. The December 2019 graduation petition deadline was September 23, 2019. When and where is the Commencement Ceremony?
The 54th Annual Commencement Ceremony has been reimagined to maintain the spirit of a traditional ceremony while remaining compliant with social guidelines provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
On Thursday, July 30, graduates will be scheduled throughout the day to arrive at the Rosemont Theatre between 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., based on their program of study. Two guests will be allowed to accompany each graduate in the theatre while maintaining proper social distancing. Video footage of each graduate walking across the stage and receiving a diploma cover will be assembled to produce a full-length commencement ceremony video which will be debuted on Triton’s YouTube channel on a future date. To participate, graduates must order their cap and gown.
How do I order my cap & gown?
Curbside pick-up will be available on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 2 – 7 p.m. and Thursday, July 23 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in front of Building R, Robert Collins Center.
To participate in this year’s reimagined commencement ceremony, please place your order for your cap and gown at www.triton.edu/capandgownorder by 11:59 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2020. Caps and gowns are provided free to participants, compliments of Triton College
I have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, will I receive an Honors Medallion?
An Honors Medallion will be included with your cap and gown order if you met the following cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) requirements:
High Honors Gold Ribbon Medallion
Associates Degree – Cumulative GPA of 3.75 to 4.0
Honors Red Ribbon Medallion
Associates Degree – Cumulative GPA of 3.50 to 3.74
Honors Blue Ribbon Medallion
Certificate – GPA 3.50 to 4.0
Can I wear additional regalia or dressings with my cap and gown? Can I draw on or embellish my cap?
Only academic regalia issued by the institution's cap and gown company will be permitted. No additional dressings on the gown are permitted in this formal ceremony, except for honors medallions, Phi Theta Kappa tassels, stoles and cords and Kappa Beta Delta tassels, stoles and cords. You may embellish the top of your cap as long as it is tasteful. Offensive words or images will not be permitted in the ceremony and a new cap/tassel must be purchased on-site for $10 each plus tax, cash only.
When will I receive my degree or certificate?
Depending on what you selected on your Application for Graduation (otherwise known as your Graduation Petition), your actual diploma or certificate will either be mailed or ready to pick up from our Records Office, room B220, 6-8 weeks after your last date of attendance. Please keep in mind that the campus re-opens to the public on Monday, August 3, 2020. For questions regarding your diploma or certificate, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Graduates participating in the Commencement Ceremony will only receive a diploma cover on July 30, 2020.
