Experience South American Food and Culture at Triton College – Oct. 4

Community members are invited to attend a special event that will bring the sounds and flavors of South America to Triton’s campus.

Bring your picnic blankets and join us on Thursday, Oct. 4, 5 p.m., on the Student Center Mounds – as Triton’s Music and Hospitality Industry Administration (HIA) programs present the next installment of the World Music Series – ‘Brazil.’

The family-friendly event will include a performance and workshop by the Brazilian music and martial arts group ‘Gingarte Capoeira.’ Small plates and beverages curated by students of the HIA Program will be available at a minimal cost.

Gingarte Capoeira Performance Company is led under the direction of Marisa Cordeiro, an accomplished performance artist who started her professional career with the international performance company Oba-Oba and is one of a few female masters of capoeira in the world.
