Fall Tree Planting
Experience nature and the great outdoors at Triton College’s Annual Tree Planting on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at noon in the Triton Botanical Gardens. Participants will plant a Shumard’s Oak tree, also known as the Red Swamp Oak. Donated to Triton by the Morton Arboretum, this native tree provides many benefits to the local ecosystems.
Triton College President Mary-Rita Moore will join students and representatives from Franklin Park’s Village Tree Committee.
The Annual Tree Planting is part of Triton’s commitment as a certified member of Tree Campus USA. This national award for higher education is awarded to institutions who demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a healthy and vibrant campus tree canopy.
This event is free and open to the public. Tree enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to attend.
