Global Music Series

The Triton College Visual, Performing and Communication Arts Department will host a Global Music Series performance on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 1-2 p.m. in Room J-107 (J Building). Admission is free.

This performance will feature Jonas Friddle from Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. Friddle is an award-winning singer, songwriter and old-time banjo player, blending rich storytelling with humor, honesty and vivid imagery. He will be joined by his longtime collaborator Anna Johnson, a versatile Chicago multi-instrumentalist known for her work on everything from French horn to fiddle.

“We are happy to be able to continue our collaboration with Chicago’s Old Town School of Music,” said Salvatore Siriano, Triton’s lead music instructor. “We are excited to bring their talented artists on campus to perform for our community.”

Siriano added that the Global Music Series is designed to expose Triton students to diverse musical traditions and help them discover commonalities across cultures.
