This October, the Triton College Library will host its Now Showing series, featuring films celebrating Guinea Independence Day, World Sight Day and Halloween. The films will be shown in the Library classroom (A Building, Room A-215).

Amilcar Cabral
Thursday, Oct. 2, 2 p.m.
Amilcar Cabral was the leader of the Liberation Movement of Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau and the founder of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde (PAIGC).
This documentary provides a rich background into Cabral’s revolutionary life as a man, father, politician and poet.
Sight: The Story of Vision
Thursday, Oct. 9, 2 p.m.
Examine the science, medicine and technology of vision and those who are battling the darkness of blindness.
Frida Kahlo … Between Passion and Pain
Thursday, Oct. 16, 2 p.m.
Learn all about the remarkable life of Frida Kahlo, featuring her iconic paintings, private diaries and interviews with close friends, critics and historians.
Mary Shelley
Thursday, Oct. 23, 2 p.m.
Enjoy this spooktacular tale of Mary Shelley, the author of the Gothic masterwork, Frankenstein.
Halloween Tech
Thursday, Oct. 30, 2 p.m.
Unlock the secrets of Hollywood monster makeup! Go behind the scenes with Knott’s Berry Farm’s 35th annual Halloween Haunt to see how scary latex masks are created.
